Unlock your hidden potential by developing science-based habits grounded in Self-Regulated Learning
Do you frequently get stuck in cycles of motivation and procrastination? Does the term 'workload paralysis' sound all too familiar? Are you surviving, not thriving, in school? Our Turbocharged 'Science of Learning, Mindset and Motivation' course will support any secondary or university student in becoming an expert, 'self-regulated' learner, equipped with a deep understanding of learning, mindset and motivation and powerful habits needed to take your academic achievement to the next level.

This course is for you if:

  • Your motivation and effort get in the way of achieving your goals
  • You go through cycles of motivation and 'workload paralysis' that leave you feeling frustrated or guilty
  • You're working really hard but procrastination makes you less efficient that you feel you should be
  • You want to better understand how to use neuroscience to improve your learning and motivation

Course Description:
The first module of this course is designed to help you understand the benefits of self-regulated learning and develop the skills needed to plan, monitor, and reflect on your learning and performance. The second module, underpinned by principles of neuroscience, is designed to empower you with increased motivation, confidence, academic resilience and independence.
By the end of this course, you’ll have a comprehensive understanding of the science of learning, mindset and motivation and be able to use that knowledge to effectively regulate your learning and turbocharge your achievement in school or university. We hope you're excited to begin your journey!

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand what learning and motivation involve and develop little tricks and hacks to convince your brain to do things you might not otherwise be motivated to do - like study
  • Set goals and reflect on your progress so that you can adjust your approach to achieve the desired results
  • Allocate the right amount of effort for any task, and target that effort efficiently
  • Use effective organisation and productivity skills as a foundation for success

About your course developer:

Sandra Forrest has spent 32 years developing Study Skills programmes underpinned by decades of research in the field of Self-Regulated Learning, including her own doctoral research. Sandra isn't just driven by her passionate belief in hidden potential and confidence that a self-regulated approach can unlock that potential; she's driven by the knowledge that excellence is a habit, achievable by anyone who is ambitious enough to learn how to learn.
